We've visited Walt Disney World in October to experience the parks adorned with fall decor and enjoy Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. Although we haven't done this many times, it remains one of my favorite times to visit. The weather is perfect—not too hot and with little rain. Trick-or-treating at Magic Kingdom was spectacular; we left with loads of candy. But there's so much more to do than just trick-or-treating. If you want to dress up, this is your chance, and you won't be alone! Some costumes we've seen are absolutely
stunning and creative.
One of the best reasons to attend these after-hours parties is the minimal wait times for rides (though not all rides are open). We still get to watch the parades and stage shows. The Boo to You Parade is my favorite parade to date. There's something special about it—perhaps it's the Headless Horseman starting the parade or the gravediggers sending sparks as they drag their shovels. It's not scary at all, just a really great parade to watch. Definitely don't miss this one.
The Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular is also a must-see if it's your first Not So Scary Party—it's wickedly fun. There's also a special fireworks show specific to the party. You can watch from near the castle, or what's called the hub in front of the castle. Savannah struggles with the loudness of fireworks, so we usually sneak into a store and wander around or sit and wait them out while Madison and Andrew watch in awe.

The cast members in the stores are amazing and make sure she's still having a good time. She's even been given treats to make it special. Even as I write this, it brings a smile to my face because, although I've missed the fireworks, I've made some happy, different memories.

There are plenty of trick-or-treat stations, and when the party starts, they give out little bags to everyone, so no need to bring your own. We always bring at least one small backpack to store extra candy if it gets too much. There are allergy-friendly options as well. If you have a food allergy, see a Cast Member to get a different colored treat bag. When you trick-or-treat with this bag, you'll receive tokens at the treat stations. Later, you can redeem these tokens at Allergy-Friendly Centers for special treats. Cast members generously fill the bags with treats, so you'll walk out with an impressive haul of candy.
There's also a variety of fun and unique foods to try for an additional cost. Some sound amazing, while others might not be to our taste. Don't let anyone else's opinion stop you from trying something—everyone has their own likes and dislikes. Be sure to check back on my blog, as I'll share the Foodie Guide once it's released.
