We are excited to announce what lies ahead for Disneyland Resort in 2025, including the commencement date and details of the 70th anniversary celebrations, along with thrilling news about brand-new attractions, returning favorites, and much more that your clients can anticipate in the upcoming year and beyond.

70th Anniversary Celebration Starts May 16

Starting on May 16, 2025, and lasting through summer 2026, the Disneyland Resort will commemorate its 70th Celebration, marking seven decades of happiness and countless joyful moments. Visitors can "celebrate happy" with exclusive entertainment, unique food and drinks, collectible merchandise, and more.

The entire resort will be decorated with brilliant, colorful designs, featuring an elegant medallion on Sleeping Beauty Castle. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and some of their friends will wear special new outfits in Town Square at Disneyland, created specifically for the celebration.

Visitors to Disney California Adventure park can anticipate a brand-new nighttime extravaganza, “World of Color Happiness!” This show draws inspiration from Walt Disney’s words during the park's dedication ceremony seven decades ago: “To all who come to this happy place...welcome!”

As night falls, the façade of Carthay Circle Restaurant will beckon everyone to “celebrate happy” with a unique moment featuring lights, music, and projection effects.

The lively parade “Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!” is set to return to California Adventure.

At Disneyland park, the popular “Paint the Night” parade will make a comeback, showcasing stunning colors, vibrant floats, and over a million dazzling LED lights. The cherished nighttime spectacular “Wondrous Journeys” will once again enchant Disneyland, with fireworks on select evenings.

The “Wondrous Journeys” nighttime spectacular and “Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!” parade will take a temporary pause to accommodate seasonal Halloween and Holiday entertainment, resuming afterward.

Disneyland will also introduce a new character cavalcade and a new projection show on the facade of “it’s a small world.” 

In celebration of the anniversary, a lively new theme song “Celebrate Happy” will be featured across various entertainment offerings.

Must-Visit Experiences and More Happiness in the Making

No matter when your clients decide to visit Disneyland Resort in 2025, there will be plenty to see and do. Guests can also enjoy numerous newly debuted and reimagined experiences, including Pixar Place Hotel, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, enhancements to New Orleans Square and Bayou Country at Disneyland park, and more.

“Walt Disney – A Magical Life” is set to premiere at the Main Street Opera House theater in Disneyland park on May 16, 2025. This attraction will showcase a cinematic portrayal of Walt Disney’s journey, concluding with a visit to Walt’s office, brought to life for the first time through the magic of Audio-Animatronics storytelling.

In 2025, construction will commence on the expansion of Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure. To accommodate new experiences, the final day for guests to enjoy the Red Car Trolley will be February 8, 2025.

There's also a lot happening in the Downtown Disney District! After introducing new restaurants, the Avengers Reserve retail store, and The D-Lander Shop in 2024, Downtown Disney will continue its transformation with more dining and shopping options on the way. The Disney Wonderful World of Sweets shop and Parkside Market dining hall are slated to open in early 2025.

Lunar New Year at Disney California Adventure Park (Jan. 17-Feb. 16): Experience offerings inspired by Chinese, Vietnamese, and Korean traditions as we celebrate the Year of the Snake. In 2025, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse will unveil brand-new outfits featuring traditional Korean attire. Enjoy the “Hurry Home – A Lunar New Year Celebration” water show, “Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession” on select days, daily live musical performances, and Asian-inspired dishes at six Lunar New Year marketplaces and selected dining locations.

Anaheim Ducks Day (Jan. 24): At California Adventure, fans can enjoy a cavalcade, meet select Anaheim Ducks players, and participate in themed games and more. Anaheim Ducks Day Overtime at the Downtown Disney District will feature an exciting fan zone with entertainment, fun activities, and photo opportunities.

Celebrate Gospel at Disneyland Park (Feb. 8 and 15): This uplifting annual concert, a resort tradition for over a decade, returns on Feb. 8 and Feb. 15, featuring performances by community choirs from across Southern California and award-winning artists. 

Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival (Feb. 28-April 21): This culinary event celebrates the Golden State with an array of creative menu items, ten marketplaces – including two with new themes – live entertainment, and the return of fan-favorites such as Chef Goofy, bookable culinary experiences, and the classic Soarin’ Over California attraction. 

Season of the Force at Disneyland Park (March 28-May 11): Experience "Fire of the Rising Moons" every night at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, featuring spectacular new projection effects and galactic music, with fireworks on select nights. Additionally, Hyperspace Mountain returns to Tomorrowland, allowing guests to zoom through the galaxy and encounter TIE fighters!

Disney Jr. Let’s Play! Party (Summer): This event returns with one day at California Adventure and two days at Downtown Disney, offering lively entertainment, Disney Jr. character meet-and-greets, and activities for families with young children.

Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort (Aug. 22-Oct. 31): Enjoy spooky fun across the resort, with specially themed attractions, family-friendly entertainment, and seasonal food and drinks.

Plaza de la Familia at Disney California Adventure Park (Aug. 22-Nov. 2): Celebrate the enduring bonds of family and the spirit of Día de Los Muertos with the Academy Award®-winning Pixar film “Coco” brought to life.

Holidays at the Disneyland Resort (Nov. 14, 2025-Jan. 7, 2026): This magical season features dazzling winter decorations, festive entertainment, and more throughout the resort. The Disney Festival of Holidays returns to California Adventure, showcasing special menu items, live performances, and family activities inspired by the diverse holiday celebrations in Southern California.

After-Hours, Separately Ticketed Events Return in 2025

After-hours events for all ages include pre-party park access, shorter wait times for select attractions, exclusive entertainment, themed food and drinks, plus unlimited Disney PhotoPass digital photo downloads from the event.

Disneyland After Dark* events offer guests the chance to enjoy lively, themed parties at Disneyland park:

• Sweethearts’ Nite (Jan. 21, 23, 28; Feb. 4, 6, 9, 11, 13): Celebrate love with a new cavalcade on Main Street, U.S.A., a Royal Ball, encounters with character couples, and vibrant music. A limited number of pre-sale tickets for Sweethearts’ Nite will be available for Inspire Magic Key holders starting Dec. 10, 2024, and all Magic Key holders starting Dec. 11, 2024. Tickets for the general public will be on sale starting Dec. 12, 2024, no earlier than 9 a.m. PT on Disneyland.com, and are limited and subject to availability.

• 90s Nite (March 4 and 6): Enjoy dance parties, sing-alongs, and more as you celebrate Disney films, music, and pop culture from the iconic 90s. “90s on Parade” will feature nods to past parades like “The Lion King Celebration” and “Mulan Parade.” A limited number of presale tickets for 90s Nite will be available for Inspire Magic Key holders starting Dec. 10, 2024, and all Magic Key holders starting Dec. 11, 2024. • Star Wars Nite (April 8, 10, 22, 24, 29; May 1, 4, 6): Embark on galactic adventures with appearances by Star Wars characters from both the Light and Dark sides of the Force, unique gatherings, and extraordinary photo opportunities. Ticket sale details will be announced later.
