As you might have heard, the biggest soirée on this side of the Mississippi has an exhilarating 50-foot drop. But, you should also know about the attraction’s story, Audio-Animatronics figures, music, and more. Here’s a special look at it all. 

Dreams Do Come True in the Queue

As soon as visitors enter the line for the attraction, the narrative unfolds!

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is set approximately a year after the occurrences in the animated film “The Princess and the Frog” by Walt Disney Animation Studios. During this experience, you will witness firsthand the path Princess Tiana's life has taken since the triumph of Tiana’s Palace, a restaurant she had envisioned and strived to bring to life.

While waiting in line, you will learn that Tiana has broadened her enterprise with Tiana’s Foods. By collaborating her skills with those of the local community, she has revitalized an old salt mine and established a popular line of unique hot sauces, seasonings, and other culinary items.

As you step into the garden area at the start of the queue, you are welcomed by a radio broadcast playing music from New Orleans artists. The announcer informs that Tiana will be hosting a celebration later that night and invites everyone to join!

He also reveals that Tiana requires your assistance with a crucial task. Due to a mistake in the party planning involving Prince Naveen and Louis, there is no band booked. With Mardi Gras season complicating a last-minute search for a band, Tiana is seeking help in finding musicians for the party tonight!

You will play a crucial role in this journey alongside Princess Tiana and the music enthusiast alligator Louis as you embark on a delightful and enchanting adventure through the bayou. Your mission is to locate the key missing element for a memorable Mardi Gras festivity: authentic New Orleans music! Remember, Louis, being a talented musician from the bayou, will be a valuable asset on this quest.

While exploring the bayou in the upcoming chapter of Tiana's tale, you will encounter both familiar faces and have the opportunity to make new friends. Among them are musical critters performing melodies from The Princess and the Frog in Zydeco, Rara, and Afro-Cuban music styles.

With the help of Mama Odie’s magic, you dig a little deeper in the bayou as she shrinks you down to an itty-bitty size for a new perspective in the search for bayou musicians. And as the talent search concludes, it’s Mama Odie who makes you big again and gets you to the joyful Mardi Gras season celebration at the magnificent home of Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen.

 Tiana’s Bayou Adventure showcases Disney's cutting-edge Audio-Animatronics figures, immersing visitors in an attraction where they feel as though they are truly interacting with the characters thanks to this state-of-the-art technology.

Oh, and you can’t miss Louis. He’s one of the largest and most dynamic figures Imagineering has ever built –created with new materials that bring him to life like never before and in a way that only Disney can do.

First, the incredible Audio-Animatronics figures at the attraction were designed by examining the story of the attraction to define the role of each character. Then, the Imagineers employed technology to enhance the story in their unique Imagineering style. Overall, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure features numerous Audio-Animatronics figures!

New Critters to See at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

While Disney attractions are famous for their amazing Audio-Animatronics figures, it is rare for them to introduce brand-new Disney characters. These fresh additions have a significant part to play in Tiana's Bayou Adventure.

For years, Walt Disney Imagineering has included the creation of unique characters for visitors to engage with as a significant aspect of its heritage. In Tiana's Bayou Adventure, 19 fresh creatures have been introduced – varying in size, age, and demeanor. Every critter is given a unique name and personality, with the aim that each guest finds at least one to bond with!

Music Brings Tiana’s Bayou Adventure to Life

Prepare to tap your toes during Tiana's Bayou Adventure! The music reaches a delightful peak as you near the celebration at Tiana and Naveen's residence, where Louis leads a jazz band comprising the creatures you encountered on your adventure and others. They perform a brand-new, unique song titled "Special Spice," featuring vocals by Anika Noni Rose, the original voice of Princess Tiana.

Collaborating with award-winning artists PJ Morton and Terence Blanchard, Imagineers crafted the music that guests will experience at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

Emphasizing the power of the city's music, a key focus in developing Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has been to authentically showcase all elements of the New Orleans culture within the attraction.

Virtual Queue, Genie+ Service at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

It's important for riders to be aware that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure operates on a virtual queue system. Visitors can sign up to join the queue via the My Disney Experience app at either 7 a.m. or 1 p.m.

Although a standby queue will not be operational during the attraction's initial opening days, they anticipate that a standby queue will be opened shortly after the attraction's opening.

Additionally, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be part of the Lightning Lane entrance offerings in the Disney Genie+ service.

Buying this service via the My Disney Experience app enables guests to access certain beloved attractions more quickly by using Lightning Lane entrances. Additionally, it comes with complimentary digital downloads of specific Disney PhotoPass attraction photos taken in the park on the day of purchase.
