‘Celebrate Soulfully’ during Black History Month at Disney Parks

Come and enjoy an exciting array of soulful festivities at Disney Parks as we celebrate Black History Month! This February and beyond, Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort welcome guests to 'Celebrate Soulfully' with experiences that pay tribute to Black heritage and culture through music, food, art, and entertainment. Enjoy mesmerizing performances, including gospel concerts and DISNEY ON BROADWAY shows, and meet beloved characters like Princess Tiana. Delight in delicious food and beverages and appreciate stunning artwork that beautifully honors Black excellence!

Tamron Hall Headlines Magic Kingdom Parade

They're starting Black History Month at Walt Disney World with a touch of extra glamour! Emmy-winning journalist and talk show host Tamron Hall will serve as Grand Marshal in a magical parade at Magic Kingdom Park on February 1. You can catch a glimpse of her along the parade route, through the park and down Main Street, U.S.A., around 3pm ET. The parade will also include beloved Disney characters, vibrant music, and stunning displays.

While visiting the park, make sure to stop by for some fun where Bayou excitement blends with Disney enchantment on the latest attraction, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Visitors can embark on a musical journey with original songs crafted by Grammy award-winning artist, PJ Morton. Princess Tiana will be joined by Naveen, Mama Odie, and the jazz-loving alligator Louis for the festivities!

Vibrant Artwork at Disney Springs and EPCOT

Explore the Disney Springs Art Walk: A Canvas of Expression and be captivated by the beautiful artwork from numerous talented artists like Ernest Shaw, Nneka Jones, Nardstar, and Marci Swett! In February, a new mural by Washington, D.C.-based artist Brandon Hill will be unveiled.

Over at EPCOT, several Black artists are participating in the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, a celebration of artistic expression in all forms.

DISNEY ON BROADWAY Concert Series

Join them for show-stopping performances as DISNEY ON BROADWAY stars perform songs from favorite Disney hits at America Gardens Theatre in EPCOT!

Dance to the Beat at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park! 

Experience the vibrant tunes and dynamic dance routines of Viva Gaia, a group of musicians hosting a Caribbean street celebration on Discovery Island at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Meanwhile, the Tam Tam Drummers of Harambe will provide pulsating rhythms in Africa, encouraging guests to join in the groove!

And you can always interact with a variety of popular and diverse characters, such as Princess Tiana at Magic Kingdom, Ariel from the live-action story “The Little Mermaid’’ at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Asha at EPCOT.

Celebrate Gospel at Disneyland!

"Celebrate Gospel" concerts are set to return to the Fantasyland Theatre at Disneyland Park for two days in 2025, featuring DOE as the headliner on Feb. 8 and Melvin Crispell, III on Feb. 15. This cherished annual event will showcase award-winning musical artists and community choirs from all over Southern California on both days.  

Black Heritage Appreciation Throughout the Year

Disneyland Resort offers a variety of experiences throughout the year that celebrate Black heritage culture. The vibrant storytelling of Princess Tiana is featured in New Orleans Square and Bayou Country at Disneyland Park, including the newly opened water attraction, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Her story is also present at Tiana’s Palace quick-service restaurant and three themed retail shops: Eudora’s Chic Boutique Featuring Tiana’s Gourmet Secrets, Ray’s Berets, and Louis’ Critter Club. 

Honoring a Black Disney Legend

At Disney California Adventure Park, a window display in Hollywood Land pays tribute to Disney Legend Floyd Norman, the first Black animator at Walt Disney Animation Studios.

Meet your favorite Super Heroes

At Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure Park, visitors can meet Black Panther, train with his dedicated bodyguards in “Warriors of Wakanda: The Disciplines of the Dora Milaje,” or have an encounter with Sam Wilson – Captain America.  

Downtown Disney District and Hotels of the Disneyland Resort

During specific afternoon and evening hours, visitors might encounter Joe Gardner from Pixar Animation Studios’ “Soul” performing smooth jazz melodies in the lobby of Pixar Place Hotel. 

At Parkside Market in the Downtown Disney District, Sip & Sonder, a Black women-owned business, offers signature lattes, fresh treats, frozen drinks, and Caribbean-inspired snacks. One of their highlighted menu items is a cold brew-based drink, Nod to Nicaud, paying tribute to Rose Nicaud, considered the first coffee vendor in New Orleans. For a limited time, guests can also explore Celebrate Soulfully offerings at Ballast Point Brewing Co., Jazz Kitchen Coastal Grill & Patio, and Lovepop.

Catfish Po'Boy: Southern-style dusted catfish filet with lettuce, tomatoes, and mayonnaise on toasted New Orleans French bread with remoulade sauce served with black-eyed pea stew, hot water cornbread, and house-made pickles.
